ABOUT VALEN

Kitchens and bathrooms are where life actually happens. It's where you make your morning coffee, wind down after a long day, get ready for whatever's ahead, and gather with the people you love. Because these spaces are so deeply personal — and because every single person moves through them differently — designing them is something I take seriously, and honestly, something I love.

My path to design is anything but traditional. I began my career in 2007 in visual merchandising, developing spatial narratives and learning how materials and environments shape the way people experience a space. From 2010 to 2016, I toured internationally as a professional dancer — and those years gave me something no classroom ever could. Living across hotels, condominiums, and villas around the world, I was immersed in design traditions far beyond what we typically see. I stood in front of ornate doors that dwarfed everything around them, walked roads lined with architecture that had patinated beautifully over centuries, and visited places like Japan where structures have stood — and inspired — for ages. That global perspective is woven into everything I do, and I owe much of who I am as a designer to those travels.

After earning my Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with honors, I established myself in residential interiors, specializing in kitchen and bathroom design. I also teach interior design — and I bring that same educator's mindset to every client relationship. I share the research, the terminology, and the why behind every decision, so you always feel informed and confident throughout the process.

My approach is collaborative by nature. I want to see what excites you, understand how you actually use your space, and help you figure out what you need versus what you simply want. When clients have a hand in shaping their own space, the result always feels more like them — and that's the whole point. You're the one who will live there.

Now based in Sacramento, I bring a global design perspective to clients across California. Whether you're in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, or anywhere in between — if you're ready to transform your kitchen or bathroom into something truly intentional, I'd love to work with you. Let's start with a conversation — your consultation is on me.
